International Class of Integration between Industry and Education (Intelligence Science and Technology)

Program Introduction

In accordance with the advanced school-running philosophy of industry-education integration, our school cooperated with Tencent and foreign universities to jointly carry out the International Class of Integration between Industry and Education program, combining industrialized skills with international curriculum system, and jointly established Silk Road Industry Institute and set up major of Intelligence Science and Technology, promoting the development of professional qualities, professional skills, and international perspectives. The program adopts the "3+1" or "4+0" training mode. During the first three years, students take courses of the major and practical training courses developed by Tencent at Guangzhou College of Commerce (GCC), and participate in professional skills training in enterprises in Tencent ecosystem to improve their applied professional skills. Choosing the "3+1" mode, students can take international courses in overseas cooperative universities in their last year, to broaden their international perspective. After completing the credits for both Chinese and foreign courses, students can be eligible to obtain double bachelor’s degrees from domestic and foreign universities. Choosing the "4+0" mode, students will stay at GCC in their final year to continue learning professional knowledge, and go to enterprises in Tencent ecosystem to strengthen skill training and practice, enhance employment competitiveness, and significantly increase the chances of high-quality employment.

In collaboration with Tencent and foreign universities, combining industrialization and internationalization, fully leveraging industry experience and advantages to integrate cutting-edge technologies and advanced cases into practical teaching, this program can cultivate students' professional abilities and vocational skills. Students can go to Tencent's upstream and downstream enterprises for practice and internship, and they can choose those enterprises as their employment direction, achieving high paying employment. Alternatively, in the final year, students can choose to study in overseas cooperative universities and complete the required credits, to obtain double bachelor's degree certificates from domestic and foreign universities.

Major: Intelligence Science and Technology

Intelligence Science and Technology is a multi-disciplinary major, which studies big data, artificial intelligence related technologies and their application and implementation in many fields. This major mainly includes two parts. One is the intelligence science, which takes cognition and learning process as the research objects and explores the realization mechanism and method of intelligent machines. The second is to study the intelligent technology that applies intelligent scientific methods to the digital economy (such as finance, retail industry, etc.). Intelligence science and technology is an important growth point of the industry and national economic development, and a core technology in smart finance, smart retail, smart city and other fields.

Teaching Objectives

Facing the digital economy industry, we should cultivate students who have a solid theoretical foundation of intelligence science, master intelligent information analysis and processing methods, have the ability to apply and develop intelligent systems, have a strong sense of innovation, and be able to comprehensively use the knowledge and skills in intelligence science and technology to solve practical problems in industrial application. We hope to train high-quality applied talents who can engage in intelligent system development, intelligent information processing, intelligent data analysis and management, information service, intelligent optimization decision-making, decision support, etc. in a wide range of industries such as Internet, communications, software, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent robots, information network, information industry, e-commerce, culture and education, medical and health, national defense, finance, etc.

3. The collaborative education features "Five Forces and Two Channels". Building a "Five Forces" model for cultivating modern innovation and entrepreneurship talents with vision, balance, problem-solving, control, and construction capabilities, and establishing two channels: universal teaching and training camp meet the personalized and differentiated ability cultivation of students. On the one hand, senior engineers of the enterprises is sent to the school to serve as long-term mentors, ensuring the universal teaching channel and the training camp channel; On the other hand, students are organized to participate in enterprise skills competition periodically, which increases learning interest and enhances professional skills.

The "3+1" mode allows them to study at overseas cooperative universities, broaden their international horizons, pursue double degrees from domestic and foreign universities, and meet the needs of international versatile talent cultivation. The "4+0" mode can further strengthen the deep integration between industry and education with well-known enterprises, enhance professional practical training capabilities, meet the employment requirements of enterprises, and assist students in achieving high-end employment in enterprises in Tencent ecosystem or Tencent's upstream and downstream enterprises. 

 

Tuition Fees

Campus in China: According to the program, RMB 66,000 per academic year is required.

 

If student chooses to study at a foreign cooperative university in the final year, the foreign cooperative university will charge according to the published fee standards, which is equivalent to approximately RMB 120,000-150,000 per academic year (the fee will be paid directly to the foreign cooperative university). After going abroad, student needs to pay RMB 10,000 per academic year degree management fee.
