On the afternoon of September 19th, the welcome meeting for 2022 undergraduate freshmen from the International College was held in the library. The meeting consisted of the main venue in the library and four sub-venues in the International College. The attendees were Guo Hang, vice president of GCC, Li Junpeng, general secretary of the Party branch of the International College, vice deans Long Haiying and Hong Zhenhua, teachers' representatives and all freshmen. The meeting was presided over by Li Junpeng.

After showing the video of the 20th anniversary of international education in the International College, the leaders of the College took the stage to speak in turn, expressing their expectation and blessings for the freshmen. Guo Hang sent a heartfelt message to the new students. The youngsters in China in the new era were born at the right time and shoulder the heavy responsibilities. This new era provides unprecedented opportunities for young people to grow into talents and puts forward higher requirements for the development of the youth at the same time. He hopes that all the freshmen will be consistent in keeping diligent and being eager to learn and stick to the belief that sharp swords have to be honed. Students also need to strengthen moral awareness, be good at distinguishing right from wrong, emulate those better than oneself and correct the mistake once it happens. Students should learn to be self-disciplined, do more physical exercise, constantly improve the humanistic quality and aesthetic taste, live positively and optimistically, and be brave in taking responsibility and dedication in the new era and new journey.

Ms Long Haiying expressed the hope that students will adapt to the university as soon as possible, learn how to realize self-study, self-growth and self-improvement, form the habits of independent reading and thinking, take the first step in the university, and live a self-disciplined and meaningful university life. Mr. Hong Zhenhua briefly introduced the outstanding achievements of the International College's overseas programs, and encouraged freshmen to set goals, study hard to explore knowledge, improve their comprehensive quality, and be determined to move forward and surpass themselves.
